The Scholarship Programme would offer open competition academic scholarships for students pursuing MPhil or Doctorate degrees in Tamil Natural Language Processing research focusing on the project topics listed in our agenda at universities in Sri Lanka. Depending on the funds availability, CTNLPR may cover partial or full tuition fee expenses per academic year, as part of the scholarship. The scholarship support is awarded to successful applicants upon request and individual assessment of the application.
The Scholarship schemes available within the center are:
- MPhil Scholarship Program – Provided for a maximum of 2 years
- PhD Scholarship Program – Provided for a maximum of 3 years
Applicants will need to submit the following documents:
- Research Proposal showing the details of the Tamil NLP related project they wish to work on with clear deliverables, literature review and project plan
- Transcripts of grades from undergraduate/postgraduate degrees
- Complete Curriculum Vitae
- Details of publications if any
- At least one detailed, informative and relevant Reference Letter (RL), written specifically to serve the application.
Selection criteria for the scholarship schemes take into account the validity and quality of the information and of the submitted documents. In order to maximize their chances in competition, the applicants must present a competitive application and adequate and relevant materials.
