The Center for Tamil natural language processing research aims to research and develop natural language processing tools required for Tamil and to build a active scholarly network of people contributing to the advancement of the language.
Our Vision is to lay the groundwork in the field of natural language processing to adopt technological advancements for the longevity and completeness of Tamil language and to prepare it for the next generation. The ultimate goal for us is to build an Open source platform for text/speech processing and analytics for Tamil. We have listed the projects that could be undertaken under the center’s research themes in the Project Road Map.
To undertake the projects listed in the road map we intend to collaborate with academic institutions and scholars by providing a Mentorship Program for universities, Fellowship Program for senior academics, Scholarship Program for postgraduate students who wish to pursue higher studies and also an Internship Program for undergraduate students.
